Just past Peacock Springs outside of Luraville, Running Springs offers good snorkeling opportunities. Take Luraville Rd. from Luraville and head about 6 miles to a dirt road across from a small church. The road will bear to the left, the springs are located about 1-2 miles down.
The first spring has a small basin with shallow depths that let out to the river. The second is about 150 feet down river. You must climb down a bank to reach the spring.
The water is very clear and has lots of rocks to explore.
This one is worth the trek to get to it.
Status: As of May 2002, Running Springs is closed by access from land.
